HonestTag next to the tools you already have
By the HonestTag team ยท Published September 2, 2026
Keep the tool you have while you test HonestTag. Both can measure the same store. Follow the alongside guide so each ad account uses one optimization feed, then compare the records after about 30 days.
HonestTag matches each Shopify order to the first recorded ad click and classifies the buyer as new or returning against the store's order history. Paid plans send every verified purchase to your configured destinations among Google Ads, Meta, Klaviyo, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok, Google Analytics 4, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and OpenAI Ads, within your plan's simultaneous-delivery limit, marked new or returning. Each attributed order carries proof you can open.
A send is counted after platform acknowledgement. Meta reports an accepted count for each batch. Google accepts a request first and reports row-level results later, so HonestTag keeps each accepted request open for up to 26 hours and corrects the record after Google reports those results. TikTok acknowledges a batch without confirming each event. HonestTag counts a batch as delivered only on TikTok's documented success code, return code 0. Any other response is marked partial or handled as an error, and is not counted as delivered.
The free Mirror puts Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok and Criteo claims next to Shopify orders. It is read-only and never writes to any ad platform. It stays free at any store size and any amount of traffic, as the pricing page says.
Different tools, different jobs
- Triple Whale calls itself an AI operating system for ecommerce. It combines business data, dashboards, attribution, Moby, and signal delivery through Sonar.
- Audiense Online (Elevar) provides a Shopify data layer, an event pipeline, and server-side destinations.
- Littledata centers its Shopify product on server-side tracking and a data layer, with GA4 as a major reporting destination.
- Lebesgue combines store and ad analytics with Henri. Le Pixel: Attribution adds first-party attribution, server-side tracking and Meta Conversions API (CAPI) integration.
HonestTag has a narrower public job. It measures first-click new-customer orders, stores the order proof, and delivers every verified purchase to your configured destinations among Google Ads, Meta, Klaviyo, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok, Google Analytics 4, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and OpenAI Ads, within your plan's simultaneous-delivery limit, marked new or returning. It is not a data-layer editor or a model menu.
Already running clean server-side tracking?
Server-side trackers such as Elevar, Blotout's EdgeTag and Littledata, or a store's own Conversions API setup, send each ad platform its purchase events from a server. They fix what goes in. When each platform receives every real purchase once, HonestTag's claims inflation reads healthy, near 1×, for each platform HonestTag delivers to. That is the right reading: the inputs are clean. A platform fed only by another tool reads untracked instead, because HonestTag has delivered nothing to it to compare. That holds even when the other tool's feed is clean: its claims would be judged against purchases HonestTag did not send, so a store with an untracked platform does not read clean.
Clean inputs do not decide which real orders each platform takes credit for. Meta's attribution setting counts a purchase within 1 or 7 days after a click on an ad, and within 1 day after an ad was seen. Google Ads reports modeled and observed conversions together in its Conversions column. A shopper who clicks a Google ad on Monday and a Meta ad on Wednesday, then buys, sends one clean event to each platform, and both can claim the order.
So when every platform's claims inflation reads healthy, HonestTag's Gap says your tracking is clean in one line, then leads with what clean tracking can't fix: every platform's claims added up against your store's orders, and each platform's claims next to the new customers whose first recorded ad click was that platform. When the claims add up to about your order count, the Gap says that too rather than inventing a finding. The weekly email's Gap section leads the same way, on the same rule, for the week it covers. First-click new customers, First-Click NCAC and verdicts come from your store's orders and HonestTag's own recorded clicks, so no feed into a platform moves them.
Northbeam and Triple Whale report credit from attribution models of their own. HonestTag does not model credit. It shows your store's orders and each platform's own claims side by side, unmodeled.
What HonestTag will not do
- Invent click history from before installation.
- Leave a fully rejected Google delivery marked delivered.
- Send a conversion after the shopper denied consent.
- Charge per order or per event.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to remove my current tool?
No. Keep it running while you evaluate HonestTag beside it.
Will two tools double-count?
They can if both send the same purchase independently. Pick one optimization feed in each ad platform. The alongside guide explains the setup.
Why are HonestTag's numbers smaller in week one?
HonestTag starts at zero and does not invent click history from before installation. Give the records about 30 days to build before comparing totals.
Does HonestTag deliver to Pinterest, Snap or Microsoft Advertising?
Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and Microsoft Advertising, yes. HonestTag's public delivery destinations are Google Ads, Meta, Klaviyo, Microsoft Advertising, TikTok, Google Analytics 4, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit and OpenAI Ads. TikTok means server-side purchase delivery through TikTok Events API; spend and reporting reads use the connected TikTok account where supported. Pinterest means server-side checkout events through the Pinterest Conversions API, with a conversion access token from Pinterest Ads Manager; HonestTag does not read Pinterest spend. Snapchat means server-side purchase events through Snap's Conversions API, with a Conversions API token from Snap Ads Manager; HonestTag does not read Snapchat spend. Reddit means server-side purchase events through the Reddit Conversions API, with a conversion access token from Reddit Ads Manager; HonestTag does not read Reddit spend. Microsoft Advertising means server-side purchase conversions through UET offline conversion import using the click id, with enhanced conversions (hashed email and phone) when there is no click id; spend and reporting reads use the connected Microsoft Advertising account.
